I’m In

I love Jesus.  I’m so thankful He loves me.  Truly unconditionally, like no other love I can feel or even imagine.  I believe it’s the only way I can make it through this crazy, beautiful life.

I decided to follow Jesus at the young age of seven.  While it seems young, I knew even then that I wanted to live differently from the world.  That I wanted to get to know God through Jesus and feel the peace that only He can bring.  What I don’t think I truly understood was the commitment to follow Jesus during good and bad times, and how hard the enemy would try to pull me away from the One True Love.

Though I’ve walked through some difficult times, God has been my source of strength, hope, and solid foundation.  Though I may change, God never does.  He is the same yesterday, today, tomorrow, and will be forever.

A recent song sparked such peace and comfort.  Even more so as I stopped to learn the words and sense the meaning behind them.  Here’s the link to “Firm Foundation (He Won’t)” by Cody Carnes. I challenge you to take a listen.  You will be glad you did.

Christ is my firm foundation

The Rock on which I stand

When everything around me is shaken

I've never been more glad

That I put my faith in Jesus

'Cause He's never let me down

He's faithful through generations

So why would He fail now?

He won't

He won't

I've still got joy in the chaos

I've got the peace that makes no sense

So I won't be going under

I'm not held by my strength

'Cause I've built my life on Jesus

He's never let me down

He's faithful in every season

So why would He fail now?

(Cody Carnes, Austin Davis, Chandler Moore)

The words couldn’t be more solid.  Christ is my firm foundation.  I have never been more glad that my faith is in Jesus.  Especially in this chaotic and often anxiety-filled world, trusting in God is my only solid.  My only true fail-safe.

Because of Jesus, I have peace even when I’m scared.

Because of Jesus, I have joy even when chaos surrounds me.

Because of Jesus, I don’t have to be perfect or have it all together.

Because of Jesus, I have hope for brighter moments.

Because of Jesus, I am enough.

And you are too.

Realizing that I am enough just as I am, is freeing.  I don’t want to be ashamed of the journey I have been on but more importantly, I don’t want to be ashamed of the Gospel.  I am a firm believer that God can use anyone and/or any situation for good.  I also believe that your story has the power to change the world.  Don’t be afraid to share.

My favorite Bible verse is Romans 1:16.

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.

(New International Version)

I don’t know about you, but I want my life to count.  I want to be all-in the game and give it my best shot.  I want to keep getting up every single morning no matter how difficult it is.

Let us choose to trust God no matter the situation.  Let us share God’s love with a world that so desperately needs healing.  Let us love this life that we’ve been given.  Let us take a stand for this generation no matter what.
