Christmas Joy

I LOVE Christmas.  Like for real, I’m obsessed with all things Christmas and have been refraining from decorating and playing Christmas music for months.  I won’t tell you how early I put up Christmas decorations in my house!  The special Christmas shirts, the movies, the lights.  It all makes me so happy!

When I think of the Christmas season, I’m immediately drawn to think about the season of Advent.  This Advent season spans a four-week preparation to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.  One of my favorite things has always been the lighting of the Advent candles.

Hope.

Faith.

Joy.

Peace.

All leading to the candle of Christ lit on Christmas Eve - to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

The anticipation for me is one of Hope,  Faith, Joy, and Peace. Christ brings all of these things to and for us.  I sure love all the lights, the decorations, the memories, and the time together, but most of all, I’m thankful for Jesus.  Life is tough, and without Christ, I couldn’t withstand any difficulty.  Jesus is available to you too.  You don’t have to have it all together or know all the answers. You just have to be available.

May you sense His presence this Christmas season.  May you feel the Hope, the Faith, the Joy, and the Peace that can only come from Jesus.  May your lights shine brighter than the darkest night, because of His love.

Isaiah 9:2 - New International Version

2 The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness, a light has dawned.

Isaiah 9:6-7- New International Version

6 For to us a child is born, to us, a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.  And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end.  He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever.

Merry Christmas friends.
