Read this Book - Redeeming Love

My Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars
Though this book is written as a fiction novel, there is a great spiritual parallel. It was a little heavy to get into, but once in the meat of the novel, I was hooked and didn’t want to put it down. The themes grew with each page turn.
I only rated it a 4.5 for length. I normally don’t enjoy reading such long books. Also, I would recommend this read for young adults or older. It could open up a lot of conversations for teens or younger. Exercise caution and have those conversations wisely. Think PG-13 movie.
A fiction work but written to tell the story of the Old Testament book of Hosea. The story of Jesus being a pursuing spouse. Looking past any and every piece of our story that we may not be proud of. Loving us in a way no one else can or ever will.
Written to share that God’s plan is always right on time. It may not happen exactly when we planned but for God, it’s always perfect timing. And God is always pursuing us just as we are.
I’m so glad I finally sat down to read this. I started to read it years ago and never did. A work that I’m sure has touched many lives and will continue to touch even more.
Hosea 3, NIV
The Lord said to me, “Go, show your love to your wife again, though she is loved by another man and is an adulteress. Love her as the Lord loves the Israelites, though they turn to other gods and love the sacred raisin cakes.”
So I bought her for fifteen shekels[a] of silver and about a homer and a lethek of barley. Then I told her, “You are to live with me many days; you must not be a prostitute or be intimate with any man, and I will behave the same way toward you.”
For the Israelites will live many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or sacred stones, without ephod or household gods. Afterward the Israelites will return and seek the Lord their God and David their king. They will come trembling to the Lord and to his blessings in the last days.
